Cybersecurity Summit Offers Tips, Training for Local Businesses

Elmira, NY (09/23/2019) — Elmira College will host a Cybersecurity Summit on Tuesday, October 15, designed to engage and assist local businesses and organizations with security best practices, policies, prevention, and awareness.

"When it comes to cybersecurity, we must partner together to share knowledge, best practices and expertise," said Brian Cornell, chief information officer and chief information security officer at Elmira College. "The summit will serve as a vehicle for community members to gather for training, education and information sharing on cyber-related topics."

The Summit, presented in partnership with the Chemung County Chamber of Commerce, The Bonadio Group, and Perry & Carroll, is free to attend and includes numerous breakout sessions and guest speakers on a variety of information security topics such as data discovery and cleanup, PCI compliance, laws & regulations, cyber insurance, security audits, risk assessments, information privacy, and compliance.

Carl Cadregari, executive vice president in the enterprise risk management team of The Bonadio Group, will present the keynote session. Cadregari has more than 28 years of experience in providing reasonable and actionable information technology and cybersecurity and architecture, controls deployment, BCP/DR auditing and planning, cybersecurity by design, and overall controls governance.

The Summit runs 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. in the Gannett-Tripp Library on the Elmira College campus. To learn more about the Summit or to register, visit http://summit.elmira.edu.
