Elmira College women's golfer Giovanna DeLoca of Long Beach Earns Recognition from Empire 8 Conference

Giovanna DeLoca of Long Beach was one of three members of the Elmira College women's golf team who received recognition from the Empire 8 Conference following the 2016 E8 Championships.

Audrey Clarke '18, Alyssa Ogden '17, and Giovanna DeLoca '17 were all named Empire 8 All-Conference honorees while leading the Soaring Eagles to a second-place finish at the league championship tournament over the weekend of October 1-2.

DeLoca was named to the Empire 8 All-Conference Second Team for the second consecutive season. After finishing in eighth place as a junior, the fourth-year talent finished ninth in this year’s E8 Conference Championship Tournament, held at the Country Club of Ithaca, with a two-day score of 191 (+47). Additionally, DeLoca was selected as EC’s representative on the Empire 8 Conference Women's Golf Sportswoman of the Year Team, which recognizes one member from each institution who has distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
