Sofia Moore Awarded 2017 Moser Freshman Prize

The 2017 Moser Freshman Prize was awarded to Sofia Moore '20. Sofia, a finance major from Allegany, NY (14706), chose Elmira after she was impressed by the small class sizes and the architecture and beauty of the College.

During her time at Elmira, Sofia has joined the Spanish Club and Rotaract Club. She found these clubs allowed her to build wonderful friendships and learn about new cultures and people, all while being involved on campus and within the Elmira community.

When asked what she loves most about Elmira College, Sofia said, "I love that Elmira College has various resources for students. Elmira offers tutoring in many different subjects and the career advisors at the Office of Career Services are very welcoming and ready to help."

The Moser Freshman Prize was established by Raymond and Nancy Crane Moser '34 to acknowledge and support the academic tradition at Elmira College. The Prize is presented annually to the student achieving the highest grade point average at the end of the first year of full-time academic work.
