2020 Outstanding Graduate Recipient Named
Elmira, NY (05/29/2020) — Among the awards given out as a part of the Elmira College 100 Days Class Reception, one student typically receives the Outstanding Graduate Award. Today we highlight this year's recipient, Zach Williamson '20.
The Outstanding Graduate Award recognizes a well-rounded student who is sincerely dedicated to the welfare of the College and student body as exemplified by citizenship, character, standing among peers, and contributions to extra-curricular life at Elmira College.
"Receiving this award from my peers is extremely touching to me because I really feel that my classmates are like a family to me," said Williamson. "I believe the Elmira community as a whole is very tight-knit and to receive this award expresses not only academic achievement but also community involvement and the relationships I've made here on campus. I am extremely grateful for all of my professors and friends at Elmira in helping me become the person I am today."
Williamson, a biochemistry major from Cicero, NY, is one of the first Elmira College students to transition from EC to the medical programs at the LECOM campus in Elmira, where he will be studying osteopathic medicine. Zach has aspirations to one day practice in family medicine or radiology.
