Class of 2020 Candlelight Speakers Announced
Elmira, NY (05/28/2020) — Each year students in the graduating class vote for one male and female speaker to represent the experiences, hopes and dreams of the graduating class at the annual Candlelight Ceremony, held the evening before Commencement. This event marks the final night of a four year experience for Elmira College graduates just before they Commence or begin a new part of their lives. This year's Candlelight Speakers are Cierra Marino '20 and Landon Miller '20.
"I think it's a real honor that my classmates chose me to speak on behalf of the whole class and share memories of our time here, at EC, with our friends, families, and the rest of the college community" said Marino.
"I am extremely honored to be nominated to be the speaker at what will be one of our last events we do together before we graduate," stated Miller.
Originally scheduled for May 31, 2020, this year's Commencement is now tentatively planned for early- to mid-August due to the coronavirus pandemic. Details will be posted on the EC website as confirmed.
