Dr. Tammy Bocek Earns Doctorate Of Nursing Practice

Elmira, NY (04/08/2022) — Tammy Bocek, Assistant Professor of Nurse Education, recently earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), in Educational Leadership from American Sentinel College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Post University.

"I am beyond excited to have completed my DNP program," said Bocek. "I chose to continue my education to promote the profession of nursing, and have an active role in improving healthcare and patient outcomes."

Elmira College students were among Bocek's motivations.

"Elmira College plays a huge role in the development of healthcare workers through rigorous education that has a far-reaching impact within our community," she said. "I believe it is incredibly important to lead by example, and our students need to have the best role models they can. Demonstrating the ability to persevere, set and achieve goals, and give back to your profession are values I hope to instill in our graduates."

The Nursing Program at Elmira College includes rigorous courses in the sciences and nursing to enhance critical thinking and clinical reasoning. The professors prepare students for entry to practice as bachelor of science-prepared registered nurses while also giving them the necessary foundational skills for graduate education.
