EC Students Present Research at Psychology Conference
Elmira, NY (06/30/2020) — Elmira College Assistant Professor of Psychology, Dr. Ping Zheng, and two EC students recently attended the 2020 Annual Meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association through a virtual platform. The meeting, originally planned for Boston, March 12 -14, was held virtually due to the coronavirus.
Lila Chamlagai '19 and Shawn Backus '21 presented a research project with Zheng titled, "Analyzing Trauma, Happiness, and the Meaning of Life among Bhutanese Refugees," based on their research examining variables related to mental health of Bhutanese Refugees in the United States. Founded in 1896, the Eastern Psychological Association is the oldest regional psychological association in the United States. Each year, psychologists and students at all levels of study from throughout the Eastern United States meet to share their research from a broad variety of scientific and professional subfields of psychology.
