Elmira College Welcomes New Vice President of Finance and Administration

Elmira, NY (10/29/2020) — Elmira College is pleased to welcome Mr. C. Edward Ashley as the new Vice President for Finance and Administration.

Ashley has an extensive career in higher education, having served as both a faculty member and administrator. Most recently, he served as an associate vice president running the Temecula campus of the California State University. Ashley's position at Elmira College marks a return to the East Coast.

"The position at Elmira College provided an opportunity to return to the East Coast, and it's good to be back in this part of the country," said Ashley. "I especially was drawn to the College's rich history as a small, private college, and as a literary enthusiast, the College's connection to Mark Twain. I look forward to exploring the region and delving into more of the Elmira-Twain history."

In addition to his experience in higher education, Ashley has extensive experience within private industry, including the areas of financing and business operations, risks versus investments, contract negotiations, and retirement fund management. Ashley also has worked in information technology and systems analysis and served as a management consultant for a firm serving Fortune 100 clients.

Ashley earned a bachelor's degree in business and management from University of Redlands (CA) and an MBA from California State University. He and his wife, Christie, have four grown children.
