Madison Lee Brown-Bloom '23 Receives Chemistry Awards

Elmira, NY (05/25/2021) — Each year, the Corning Section of the American Chemical Society Award is presented to an outstanding freshman student studying chemistry, based on performance in both the lecture and lab classes. This year's recipient is Madison Brown-Bloom '23.

"To me, this award means that I am on the right path," said Brown-Bloom. "I struggled to declare a major for my first two years here at Elmira, and it feels great to know that following my heart is paying off. I am very honored to be receiving recognition."

Brown-Bloom is a member of the Elmira College softball team and is also the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative for the team. She has been named to the Empire 8 Presidents List for the last 3 terms. The list recognizes recognizes student-athletes who earned a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher during the term.
