Mountain Day Memorial Service Honors Memory of Alumni
Elmira, NY (09/30/2019) — On Mountain Day, September 25, students, faculty and administrators took a step away from the festivities to honor and remember the 70 loyal alumni who passed away this past year.
The Office of Alumni Relations organized the annual Service of Remembrance, featuring photos and memories of each alumni. Becca Cook '20 and Liberty Hager '20 shared a poem entitled "We Will Remember," and a rendition of the song "Hallelujah" was performed by the EC Naturals. The ceremony concluded with all attendees linking arms and singing the alma mater.
Directly following the Service of Remembrance, iris bulbs were planted around the Cowles Hall portico, in memory the alumni lost.
