Robert Ernst '22 Awarded Algernon DeWaters Gorman Prize
Elmira, NY (05/20/2021) — The Algernon DeWaters Gorman Prize, was endowed as an award for the Elmira College junior with a good overall average who has completed the most scholarly work in chemistry. This year's recipient is Robert Ernst '22.
"This award means so much to me as it allows for others to see my success in my major of chemistry," said Ernst. "I am thankful for having had the opportunity to study here at Elmira College and being recognized for my scholarly career."
Dr. Phillip Kovac, assistant professor of chemistry shared this about Ernst's achievements in the classroom, "Throughout the academic year, I have gotten to know Robbie in my calculus-based physics course. I am continually impressed with his sharp nature and ability to quickly grasp the application of abstract mathematics to physical problems. Robbie's engagement and enthusiasm in his study of physical science continues as he sets his sights on graduate study in forensic science. I am honored to present the Algernon DeWaters Gorman Prize to Robbie and look forward to hearing of his future accomplishments."
Ernst is planning on going to graduate school for forensic science.
