Student Pays Homage to Hometown Through Art Exhibit

Elmira, NY (12/06/2018) — Pittsburgh native and student-athlete, Anthony Parrucci '20, has always had an interest in art, and he is now using that interest to showcase his hometown.

Parrucci, a member of the EC men's ice hockey team, has had a passion for art since he was young. An art education class in high school furthered that passion and led Parrucci to enroll in an introduction to printmaking course with Professor Chris Longwell this Term, where he continued to pursue his passion and created the current projects on display.

"I used a few different types of printmaking during this term," Parrucci explains. "The PNC Park portrait and the Hockey portrait bobblehead were both linoleum relief prints. The architecture portrait is of my high school, Pittsburgh Central Catholic, and is made from a plexiglas engraving. For my final project I created from a bronze etching and it is an area view of the City of Pittsburgh."

Parrucci's's work will be on display in the Gibson Theatre lobby now through January 15, 2019.
