Students Inducted Into Education National Honor Society

Elmira, NY (03/20/2019) — The Rho Mu Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education recently held its induction ceremony for outstanding education majors.

During this year's ceremony, senior members of the honor society were awarded Kappa Delta Pi cords. Along with these awards, junior members who are education and speech and language disabilities majors were inducted into the prestigious honor society for educators. The event included a keynote address by Dr. Deborah Owens, director of teacher education at Elmira College.

Kappa Delta Pi was founded in 1911 to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. For over a century, the Society has consistently grown, starting with a local chapter to become the international organization it is today, with an initiated membership that exceeds 1.2 million. The Rho Mu Chapter originated at Elmira College in 1988.
