Term III Student Show Opens Thursday, May 16, 2019
Elmira, NY (05/14/2019) — The Annual Term III Senior Student Art Show opens Thursday, May 16, 2019, in the George Waters Gallery with an opening reception and awards ceremony. The exhibit features paintings, sculptures, ceramics, furniture design, and video created by senior art majors and minors. . Work by all other students, including seniors, who are not majoring or minoring in art, will be exhibited in Tifft Lounge.
This year, six seniors are showcasing their work y for the Term III Student Show, including Sally Hogan '19, Olivia Cacchione '19, Meg Lahey '19, Mae Dinh '18, Katherine Adelaide Flood '19, and Tsiehente Herne '19.
Awards for this year's show will be selected by Elmira artist and educator, Daniel Reidy, whose large scale painting "Head of Titian's Venus," hangs on the terrace level of the Gannett-Tripp Library.
Thursday's opening reception for the student show begins at 5:00 p.m. with the awards ceremony at 6:00 p.m. in the Gallery. The exhibit will be on display through May 23, 2019, noon until 4:00 p.m. daily, and is free and open to the public.
