Where Are They Going: Cheyenne Boucher '20
Elmira, NY (04/30/2019) — As the June 2019 Commencement approaches, the Office of Career Services is taking a look at where members of the Class of 2019 are headed after graduation. This week's, "Where are They Going?," looks at the future plans of Cheyenne Boucher '20, a speech and hearing major, who is graduating one full year early.
For life beyond EC, Cheyenne plans to attend the University of New Hampshire starting in the fall of 2019. She will major in communication sciences and disorders and plans to work in a preschool once certified.
Recently Cheyenne completed an internship with the EOP Head Start Birth to Five School Readiness Program. During her internship she was responsible for overseeing the daily implementation of the classroom schedule and curriculum. She also completed the necessary paperwork to become a Classroom Substitute Aide, assisted with the planning and preparation of materials, and the implementation of the program's Creative Curriculum. The internship provided Cheyenne with the knowledge of early childhood development and other developmental practices. These practices relate to school readiness for a preschooler, and allowed her to develop the skills and strategies necessary to effectively carry out behavior management techniques in a classroom.
During her time at EC, Cheyenne was the Senator of Silent Voices, a member of LISP (League of Intern Speech Pathologists), a Phi Eta Sigma and Omicron Delta Kappa member, Gold Key Award Recipient, Trustees Award Recipient, and a CSD student tutor. We wish her all the best as she continues her education at UNH!
