Elmira, NY (11/15/2018) — This past week, the Elmira College campus came together to learn more about the LGBTQ community during the annual weeklong PRIDE Symposium. The week of events included a student-run drag show, a documentary and discussion session, a walking history tour of the LGBTQ community, and a panel discussion with keynote speaker Luca Maurer.

Mauer works and speaks throughout the U.S. and internationally. In addition, Mauer is a recipient of the 2011 Mary Lee Tatum Award for exemplifying the qualities of an ideal sexuality educator, and has several publications that cover topics including gender diversity, gender identity, transgender knowledge, and HIV/AIDS.
