Armand Battisti '77 Named 2022 Distinguished Achievement Award Recipient

Elmira, NY (06/08/2022) — Armand Battisti '77 is the recipient of the 2022 Distinguished Achievement Award, which will be presented at Reunion 2022. This award recognizes Elmira College alumni who have distinguished themselves and the College by making a difference in society by improving the quality of life in their local, national, and global communities, and have demonstrated success as a leader in their professional and community work.

Battisti '77, of Wilmington, Delaware, graduated from Elmira College with a bachelor's in Environmental Sciences. He then went on to get his master's in Public Administration at Alfred University in 1981.

Battisti has shown great prowess in development work, most recently working as a Senior Consultant, mentor, and instructor in professional fundraising, serving non-profit organizations in the northeast. Prior to this role, he was Director of Development at the College of Engineering at the University of Delaware and has held similar roles at Winterthur Museum and West Chester University.

While at West Chester, Battisti directed the University's first capital campaign, "Windows to the Future." The campaign exceeded its $12 million goal.

In 2011, the Brandywine Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals named Battisti Fundraising Executive of the Year.

When Battisti first started at West Chester, he was in sales and marketing and was named to the President's Club three times for reaching one million dollars in total sales.

Among his earliest positions, Battisti worked for Elmira College as an Admissions Counselor and Assistant to the Dean.

An active member of the community, Battisti has served in leadership positions on the Board of Directors for the Delaware Humane Society. He also serves as a board member of the Broome County, New York YMCA and has served on the board of the Delaware Alliance for Nonprofit Advancement and on the Executive Committee for the University of Delaware.

Battisti has also been an active alumnus of Elmira College. He was formerly a Class Agent and Alumni Board member. He has hosted Elmira College events and attended many EC events and Reunions.
