Dr. Ryland Hugh Hewitt, Jr. Award Recipient Named

Elmira, NY (06/26/2020) — Each year, the Dr. Ryland Hugh Hewitt, Jr. Award is given to an Elmira College student who has excelled in the field of speech-language pathology or audiology. The award was given by Warren and Louise Hewitt Aldrich '49 in memory of Louise's brother, Dr. Ryland Hugh Hewitt, Jr. This year's recipient is Alexis Bentley '20.

"I am honored to be receiving this award," said Bentley. "Elmira College has provided a foundation that inspired me to continue pursuing my dreams of becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist. I would like to thank the entire Communication Sciences and Disorders department for your willingness to go above and beyond to provide the best education. I will forever be grateful for the encouragement I received during my clinical experiences. With my deepest sincerity, thank you!"
