EC Named to 'Best 388 Colleges' by The Princeton Review
Elmira, NY (08/19/2022) — Elmira College was named one of the nation's best undergraduate colleges and best regional colleges in The Princeton Review's 2023 edition of The Best 388 Colleges.
Only about 14% of America's four-year colleges are profiled in the printed guide, with colleges chosen based on student surveys and data collected annually from administrators about their institutions' academic offerings. The Princeton Review does not rank the colleges it includes in the guide.
EC was also featured in The Princeton Review's "2023 Best Colleges: Region by Region," which salutes 655 colleges in five zones considered academically outstanding and well worth consideration.
The EC profile includes general statistics and quotes from students that praise the academic support they receive from professors and the close-knit community on campus.
Elmira professors "are dead-set on providing their students with quality information," says one student. Professors are "engaged and willing to help any student with anything," said another.
When describing the campus, one student said, "It has an air of elegance and beauty founded on tradition while being fun and quirky as well."
And another student said Elmira College students "always find something to do, whether on campus or off," and given the small size of the campus, "everyone is encouraged to cultivate their interests and be as involved and outgoing as possible."
"Elmira College enables every student to find their own way - on campus and beyond - by bringing together a liberal arts education with professional programs," said Dr. Charles Lindsay, president of Elmira College. "Recognition by the Princeton Review and other publications is tangible evidence that Elmira is fulfilling its mission to offer students an engaging, immersive, and supportive student-centered education."
