Education Department to Host Alternative School for Math and Science Seminar
Elmira, NY (05/22/2019) — The Elmira College Department of Education will host Kim Frock, administrative head of school with the Alternative School for Math and Science (ASMS) on Wednesday, May 29 at 4:00 p.m. in Room 04, Harris Hall. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Frock will be discussing the founding of the school, its mission, and accomplishments over the last 15 years. ASMS, located in Corning, New York, is an independent middle school serving grades 6-8. Students at the school experience a robust curriculum that covers English language arts, social studies, math, science, foreign language, music, art, and physical education. Students are also put in individual, responsive and experiential learning environments that teach essentials such as how to learn, question, think critically, and solve problems.
