Elmira College Adds Finance Certification Courses
Elmira, NY (11/18/2020) — Elmira College now offers course options for undergraduate students and working professionals looking to sit for the Certified Financial Planner® exam.
For undergraduate students interested in finance, the College now offers students the option to take courses that qualify them for the CFP® exam as part of their undergraduate work. EC is one of only 31 schools in the Northeast with a CFP® Board-recognized undergraduate program that fulfills the education requirement to sit for the exam.
For current professionals looking to prepare for the exam, the College now offers a CFP® Board-approved continuing education program, which allows professionals to complete the seven required, non-credit education courses online, at their own pace.
"Our new CFP education courses are provided through virtual, self-paced, active learning courses offered in conjunction with Kaplan Education," said Dr. Elizabeth Lambert, vice president for enrollment management and student life. "What sets our program apart from similar programs is that professionals working through these courses will have access to our business administration faculty for assistance and support. This program is highly manageable for working professionals and a smart investment in your future career advancement."
Administered by the Certified Financial Planner® Board, the CFP® certification signifies financial professionals who have met extensive training and experience requirements, and who commit to the CFP Board's high ethical standards.
Undergraduate students interested in learning more about the certification courses should contact Dr. Ralph Dennis, assistant professor of finance, at rdennis@elmira.edu.
