Elmira College Celebrates National American Eagle Day
Elmira, NY (06/20/2019) — Today is National American Eagle Day and as the official Elmira College mascot is the Soaring Eagles, eagles have a special place at EC.
The EC Soaring Eagle was adopted as the mascot in the early 1970s, in tribute to the Elmira area's distinction as the "Soaring Capital of America," with its hills and valleys that naturally suit the region for glider flight.
