Elmira College Named National Best Liberal Arts College
Elmira, NY (09/11/2018) — In their just-released 2019 BEST COLLEGES rankings, U.S. News & World Report again named Elmira College to the list of Best National Liberal Arts Colleges.
"We are honored to once again be included in the U.S. News & World Report's Best National Liberal Arts category," observed Elmira College President Dr. Charles Lindsay. "This recognition is another acknowledgement that Elmira offers students an engaging, immersive, and supportive student-centered education."
The College was also identified as a "Best" National Liberal Arts College by high school guidance counselors. Each year, U.S. News & World Report surveys guidance counselors from the top public high schools, as well as the largest private schools, on which National Universities and National Liberal Arts Colleges offer the best undergraduate education to their students. Elmira College was among the 207 National Liberal Arts Colleges making the list.
The College was also identified as graduating students with a mid-level debt load - a statistic that occurred prior to the College's recent announcement that it will implement a tuition reset effective with the 2019-2020 academic year. The reset lowers tuition and fees from $41,900 to $35,400 - a 15 percent decrease - and moves Elmira College's tuition rate to one of the lowest undergraduate tuition prices of any four-year private college or university in the region.
Elmira College has also been listed by the Princeton Review as a Best College in the Northeast and named a College of Distinction for innovative learning opportunities and expert blending of the liberal arts with professional programming in business, education, and nursing.
