Elmira College to Host Fourth Annual Dance Marathon
Elmira, NY (03/13/2019) — The fourth annual Elmira College Dance Marathon (ECDM), in support of the Children's Miracle Network at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, will be held on Saturday, March 23, at St. Anthony's gymnasium in Elmira.
Not every baby is born healthy. Some may require extra help in the first part of their lives. The Children's Miracle Network (CMN) of the Arnot Ogden Medical Center is dedicated to helping babies, some of which are born weighing one pound, who have to live the beginning of their lives in the hospital. Donations to the Elmira College Dance Marathon (ECDM), help make their stay more comfortable and improve the quality of their care.
Since founded in 2015, ECDM has raised over $41,000 for the CMN at Arnot Health. Olivia Cacchione, overall director of Elmira College Dance Marathon 2019, says "As part of a small, private liberal arts college, our success comes from hard work, dedication, creative solutions, and supporting each other. Our committee is made of students working nonstop, raising dollar by dollar to reach an ambitious goal of $16,000 to give back to young lives and families in the local community. Through the continued support of the college, local community, friends and family, we can make a difference. We are small but mighty."
Throughout the academic year ECDM has been present with tables at the Elmira Enforcers and Elmira College hockey games, hosted an on-campus safe trick-or-treat event with other student groups (Circle K and TEACH), donated baby blankets to the NICU, and much more to help raise awareness and funds for CMN at Arnot Health.
Help ECDM reach their goal by donating or registering to attend the "Under the Sea" Dance Marathon event on March 23 from noon to midnight in St. Anthony's gymnasium. CMN is the only children's charity committed to having 100% of the funds raised donated for support of local children.
Those registering and attending the event will receive a free t-shirt and access to all event perks including food, activities, music, and meeting Miracle Families. To donate or register for the event, click here. Follow ECDM's progress, throughout the event, on Instagram and Facebook.
