Elmira, winners of 16 consecutive games, earned the top seed by winning all 18 UCHC games throughout the 2018-19 campaign. The Soaring Eagle became the first program in the UCHC's brief history to conclude the regular season with a perfect 18-0-0 league record, this after going 15-0-1 during the inaugural season of the UCHC in 2017-18, which yielded a tournament title for the Purple and Gold.
First-year program Nazareth enjoyed a phenomenal season, earning 13 conference wins en route to clinching the No. 2 seed. Aside from losing two games to Elmira, the only other league blemishes on Nazareth's record came against Neumann and Manhattanville, both by identical 5-1 scores. The Golden Flyers are playing some of their best hockey entering the postseason, as they are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games.
William Smith will be eyeing their first appearance in a UCHC title game, after racking up 12 league wins during the regular season and locking up the No. 3 seed. The Herons advanced to the UCHC Semifinals thanks to a 6-0 rout of Neumann in the quarterfinal round. William Smith opened the year with a 10-game win streak, but the Herons are just 5-3-2 in their last 10 contests.
Manhattanville is seeded fourth in this year's conference tournament and head into the postseason playing some of its best hockey of the season. The Valiants are 8-2-0 in their last 10 games and are riding high on a four-game winning streak. During that 10-game stretch, Manhattanville has picked up wins against William Smith (4-2) and Nazareth (5-1). Manhattanville advanced through the UCHC Quarterfinals by defeating fifth-seeded Utica, 3-2, at the Playland Ice Casino in Rye, New York.
