Evelyn Schoenberger '22 Receives Iris Leadership Prize
Elmira, NY (04/15/2021) — Each year Elmira College awards upperclassmen students with the Iris Leadership Award. This year, two students received the award and today we feature Evelyn Schoenberger '22.
"The Iris Leadership Award means so much to me as I am entering my senior year here at Elmira College," said Schoenberger. "This scholarship allows me to recognize that being a leader is not for yourself, but for the benefit of those around you. Thank you to those that have made this possible for me, and here's to being a leader and changing the world!"
Schoenberger is active on campus, having started her own club, Run and Kicks for Kids, in addition to being a resident assistant, president of Circle K International, a member of the Gold Key Society, and being a tutor for nursing students.
According to Nolan Oxley '13, associate director of admissions and recruitment, who nominated Schoenberger, "No one has more EC spirit than Evelyn. At her Accepted Eagle Day as a senior in high school, she literally won our contest for school spirit."
