Saudia Washington '22 Receives Esther Booth Alden Scholarship
Elmira, NY (09/09/2020) — Saudia Washington '22, full-time Elmira College nursing student from Chemung, NY, was recently named the 2019-2020 recipient of the Esther Booth Alden Scholarship awarded by the New York State Federation of Home Bureaus, Inc.
"It is an honor to accept the Esther Booth Alden Scholarship," said Washington. "I am thankful for all the help along the way. It is not an easy path pursuing education after being out of school for a few decades, but I am truly motivated to complete my goals. I would like to say thank you to those on the board that chose me."
The award is given annually to a nursing major selected by the Home Bureau Chapter and has been awarded annually since 1970. Alden had many ties to Elmira College, including her mother, Myra Ainsworth Booth, Class of 1897.
