Sherman Appointed to NCAA Advisory Committee

Elmira, NY (08/20/2019) — Elmira College Associate Director of Athletic Communication & Business Development, Don Sherman, was recently appointed to the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championships Regional Advisory Committee (RAC), according to the Empire 8 Conference.

"I'm excited for the opportunity to serve on the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Regional Advisory Committee this fall. It's also nice for Elmira College, as well as the Empire 8 Conference, to have representation on this committee. Overall, I'm flattered to have been selected and am eager to get started." said Sherman.

The Regional Advisory Committee is comprised of individuals, who work at NCAA member institutions, to represent their conference in each sport that the conference sponsors. RAC members assist in the evaluation of teams, officials, and sites during the championship selection process. While the RAC does not have the authority to select teams or individuals to participate in NCAA championships, the RAC does advise the governing sports national committee in making tournament selections, as well as ranking teams in the region. RAC members also can serve as NCAA site representatives at preliminary-round competitions as needed.
