Student Awarded Marian Ames Chemistry Prize

Elmira, NY (03/27/2020) — As a part of the annual Elmira College Academic Honors Banquet, students are honored with various prizes and awards. Today we recognize Destiny Decker '21 for receiving the Marian Ames Chemistry Prize.

"I am grateful to have received the Marian Ames chemistry prize because chemistry has not always been easy for me," said Decker. "This shows that hard work pays off, and I am thankful for the EC science faculty because they have made me a better student!"

The Marian Ames Chemistry Prize is presented each year by the Class of 1936 in memory of Miss Ames, an outstanding professor of chemistry to an outstanding junior concentrating in chemistry.
