Student Exhibit Portrays New Adventure Into Photography
Elmira, NY (02/10/2020) — Art major Keion Safargar '21, is the Featured Student Artist for the Gibson Theatre Lobby displays, February 4-25, 2020.
Safargar draws his inspiration from Ralph Gibson, a photographer who focuses on black and grey photos. "Ralph Gibson's use of surreal black and grey photos, mixed with abstraction fueled my ideas in photography," said Safargar. "Photography has been an adventure I did not know I needed to experience."
According to Safargar, it has been "captivating" to learn and understand how images are created. "There is a glorifying feeling when in the darkroom and your image begins to manifest physically, and your ideas and vision become a reality to be shared."
