Student Honored With Bruce Beaty Memorial Prize
Elmira, NY (06/25/2020) — Each year, one Elmira College student is awarded the Bruce Beaty Memorial Prize, to honor their excellence in the field of human services. The prize was given by Dr. Janice Beaty Janssen, Professor Emerita of Human Services, in memory of her son, Bruce. This year's recipient is Natalie Straut '20.
"To me, this award solidifies the idea that I chose the right path in adding human services to my undergraduate studies," said Straut. "The work that I put into this major helped open my eyes to this field and receiving this award motivates me to continue learning what I can offer to the world through human services as well as psychology. This award is an honor and I am so thankful for the opportunities Elmira College provided me."
