Students Awarded Performing and Fine Arts Prizes
Elmira, NY (05/21/2020) — Several awards are given out each year to both students and faculty, including those that highlight the arts. This year, two prizes have been awarded for excellence in the arts, The Daniel Lipson Prize, and the Mary Lou Parella '65 prize.
The Daniel Lipson Prize is presented to a sophomore or junior who excels in Performing Arts. This year, two students have been awarded the prize, Breanna Millard '22 and Taylor Kibbler '21.
"Awards like this allow me to continue pursuing my passion in Theatre and Business Administration," said Millard.
"To be recognized in my area of study allows for me to feel confident in my growth as a theatre major in Elmira college," Said Kibbler.
The Mary Lou Parella '65 Prize, gifted by Lina Parrella in memory of her niece, a member of the Class of 1965, is presented annually to a gifted undergraduate student in the field of fine arts. This year's recipient is Marisa Woodley '23.
"After coming from a high school where hard work was constantly overlooked, being recognized by Elmira means so much to me," said Woodley. "My gratitude is unfathomable!"
