Students Honored with Annual Provost's Prizes
Elmira, NY (06/26/2020) — Recipients of the Elmira College Provost's Prizes in the Academic Disciplines are outstanding in the classroom in terms of their writing, presentation, and critical thinking skills. Such students take on new experiences in research, in learning new skills and techniques, and have frequently presented or published academic manuscripts. These students are members of national academic honor societies, and the faculty at Elmira College anticipates great accomplishments from them in their chosen fields.
This year's recipients include:

"Receiving the Provost's Prize is just the icing on the cake. This award has solidified my efforts over the last four years at EC into something even more meaningful than before. I have changed so much as a person since I took my first class. I have EC to thank for that. Though extremely challenging at times, these were truly the best 4 years of my life."
Patrick Schmelzinger '20 (finance)
"Everyday is an opportunity to step towards your dreams."

Andreas Endresen '20 (psychology)
"Recognition for this award is greatly appreciated because it demonstrates an urge to explore scientific themes that have never been investigated by other researchers before. Attending conferences, publishing manuscripts, and engaging in novel discussions on scientific innovation are hobbies that I discovered at Elmira College, and that I plan to continue in my future career. I want to thank the psychology faculty at Elmira College for aiding me in my endeavours and for helping to shape the next steps of my career."
