For the first time in her collegiate career, freshman goalkeeper Cassidy Buchman '22, of the Elmira College women's soccer team, was named the Empire 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

For the second time this season, junior goalkeeper Tina O'Donnell '20 was recognized by the Empire 8 Conference for her exploits in goal.

Two-sport athlete and recent Elmira College graduate, Sarah Hughson '18, has been named one of the record-setting 581 nominees for the prestigious NCAA Woman of the Year Award, as announced by the NCAA office on July 12, 2018. Hughson is one of 170 multi-sport athletes in this year's pool and is among 199 nominees from the Division III level.

For the first time since October of 2011, the Elmira College field hockey program has swept both Empire 8 Conference weekly accolades, as Matilda Kennedy-Butler '19 and Tina O'Donnell '20 were crowned the E8 Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Matthew Buffum '18 of the No. 15-ranked Elmira College men's volleyball team was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player of the Week for Division III on March 26. Buffum was also tabbed as both the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) and Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week the day before. The announcement marks just the third time in program history that an EC player garnered this accolade, the most recent being two-time AVCA All-American Erik Griffin '16, who did so on February 23, 2016.
