Each year Elmira College awards the Corning Section American Chemical Society Award, CRC Basic Chemistry, and the Algernon DeWaters Gorman Prize to students in the chemistry major. The recipients for this years prizes include Paige Stilts '23, Jordan Holt '23, and Emma Kelly '21.

The Helen Bosworth Beers '24 Prize has been awarded to Janice Teeter '21. The Prize has been endowed by members of her family in honor of Helen Bosworth Beers, a member of the Class of 1924, to be presented to a junior or senior who, in daily living, supports religious principles and who is a good student and an outstanding citizen in the College.

The Freshman Writing Prize is awarded to a first-year student who has taken both courses in the Academic Writing Program sequence and has demonstrated mastery of the writing, critical thinking, and oral communications skills studied in those courses.

The Elmira College Epsilon Delta Chi Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma recently announced the induction of its new members for 2020. The national honor society recognizes outstanding criminal justice majors and minors.

Elmira College recently named this year's Margaret Locke Community Service Prize winner. The Prize was endowed by Barbara Linenthal '75 and other friends of Professor Emerita of Physical Education, Dr. Margaret Locke, to a student who has demonstrated a spirit of service to the campus and wider communities, provides a model of community involvement, and makes a difference in the lives of others through service.

Elmira College recently named this year's recipient of the Marian Ames Memorial Prize. The Prize is presented each year in memory of Miss Ames, an outstanding Professor of Chemistry, by the Class of 1936, to an outstanding an outstanding junior concentrating in chemistry.

The Empire 8 Conference recognized 64 Soaring Eagles on its semi-annual President's List, which honors student-athletes who achieved a grade-point of 3.75 or higher during the fall term.

The 2019 Moser Freshman Prize was awarded to Jenna Cowder '22 at a ceremony during Family Weekend.

The Prize recognizes an exceptional graduating student in American Studies, Classical Studies, English Literature, History, or Philosophy and Religion, whose work exemplifies the ideals of scholarly inquiry and demonstrates a passion for the humanities.

Elmira College recently named the recipient of this year's Elizabeth Anne Graham '42 Prize. The prize is presented to the graduate who, in the judgement of the Department of Art, shows the greatest promise in the field of applied art.

The 2019 recipient of the Kathryn Jenkins Education Prize was recently announced at Elmira College's Commencement exercises. The Prize is awarded to the graduating student, either graduate or undergraduate, who shows the greatest promise in the field of childhood education.

Elmira College recently named the recipient of this year's 1917 Prize at the College's Commencement exercises. The award is given to the graduate who has shown the most creative ability in English language and literature.

Elmira College recently awarded the Jeannette Elizabeth Sheldon '78 Prize in Foreign Language. The Prize was endowed by Albert Smith Sheldon in memory of his sister, a member of the Class of 1878, and is awarded to the member of the graduating class with the highest achievement in foreign language study.

Elmira College recently named the recipient of this year's Bruce Beaty Memorial Prize. The Prize, established by Dr. Janice Beaty Janssen, Professor Emerita of Human Services, in memory of her son, is given to an exceptional graduate in the field of human services.

Elmira College recently named this year's recipient of the Julian Allen Prize at the 2019 Commencement exercises. The Prize was established for excellence in international business and is awarded annually on the basis of merit.

Elmira College recently announced the recipient of this year's Abraham Shabanowitz Mathematics Prize at its Commencement exercises. Established by Dr. Harry Shabanowitz, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, in memory of his father, the award recognizes graduates showing outstanding achievement in the field of mathematics.

Elmira College recently named the recipient of this year's Dr. Ryland Hugh Hewitt, Jr. Award. The Award is presented to a junior or senior who has excelled in the field of Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology.

Elmira College recently named the recipient of this year's Dr. Louise Frances Potter. The Prize is given in memory of Dr. Potter, an outstanding microbiologist at Elmira College, to a superior graduate in biology.

The recipient of this year's Alpha Sigma Lambda Prize was announced at Elmira College's Commencement exercises. The Prize is awarded to the part-time graduating student with the highest cumulative grade point average at Elmira College, by the Elmira College chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda.

Elmira College recently named the recipient of this year's Carmine John Parker '79 Prize. The Prize recognizes a graduate with promise as a leader in global citizenship. The recipient must be an international relations or political science major with a related field of study such as foreign languages, economics, history, or business.

The recipient of this year's Emerson Liscum Diven Prize was announced at Elmira College's Commencement exercises. The Prize is awarded annually to a senior who has high academic achievement and has contributed the most scholarly work in biology. The Prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Biology.

The 2019 ANA Future Nurse Leader Award was presented at the annual Elmira College Nurse Pinning Ceremony held as part of the College's Commencement weekend activities.

The Professional Nurses of the Twin Tiers Award was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize is awarded annually to the nursing student who demonstrates leadership and high academic standards.

The "Excellence in Nursing" Senior Year Award was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize is presented by the Nurse Education Program faculty each year to an outstanding graduating senior nursing student that represents the profession of nursing.

The Elmira College Class of 2019 included more than 115 graduates receiving summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude honors at the College's 161st Commencement on Sunday, June 2 at the First Arena, Elmira. The exercises included 204 undergraduate and 22 graduate students.
