Margaret Locke Community Service Prize Awarded

Kyle Kokoskie '22 is this year's recipient of the Margaret Locke Community Service Prize. The award is given annually to an Elmira College student who has demonstrated a spirit of service to the campus and wider communities, provides a model of community involvement, and makes a difference in the lives of others through service.

Waters Receives Mildred Whittlesey McGraw Attainment Prize

The Mildred Whittlesey McGraw Attainment Award recognizes an Elmira College junior who has made the greatest contribution in academic achievement, general activities, and citizenship, and who has demonstrated most thoroughly the aims of the College. The award was endowed by Harold McGraw, Sr., former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, in honor of his mother. This year, two students received the award and today we feature Alyssa Waters '22.

The Mildred Whittlesey McGraw Attainment Prize Awarded

The Mildred Whittlesey McGraw Attainment Award recognizes an Elmira College junior who has made the greatest contribution in academic achievement, general activities, and citizenship, and who has demonstrated most thoroughly the aims of the College. The award was endowed by Harold McGraw, Sr., former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, in honor of his mother. This year, two students received the award and today we feature Felicity Brockhuizen '22, a double major in biology and psychology.

Each year, the Dr. Ryland Hugh Hewitt, Jr. Award is given to an Elmira College student who has excelled in the field of speech-language pathology or audiology. The award was given by Warren and Louise Hewitt Aldrich '49 in memory of Louise's brother, Dr. Ryland Hugh Hewitt, Jr.

Recipients of the Elmira College Provost's Prizes in the Academic Disciplines are outstanding in the classroom in terms of their writing, presentation, and critical thinking skills. These students are members of national academic honor societies, and the faculty at Elmira College anticipates great accomplishments from them in their chosen fields.

Student Honored With Dr. Kathleen Sward Prize

Each year, one Elmira College student receives an endowed award that recognizes the student's ability to demonstrate academic and clinical excellence in nursing. This award is the Dr. Kathleen Sward Prize, which was established and endowed by Dr. and Mrs. Edward Grandt. Dr. Kathleen Sward was the first Director of the Elmira College Nurse Education Program. Dr. Grandt, a highly respected physician and former trustee of the College, was instrumental in the development of the Elmira College Nurse Education Program.
