Each year Elmira College awards upperclassmen students with the Iris Leadership Award. This year, two students received the award and today we feature Evelyn Schoenberger '22.

Each year, the Elmira College Board of Trustees Prize is presented by the Trustees to students whose college experience demonstrates continual growth and development academically, socially, or in service to the College community.

The Mary Lou Parrella Prize is given by Lina Parrella in memory of her niece, a member of the Class of 1965, to a gifted Elmira College freshman or sophomore in the field of fine arts. This year the prize has been awarded to a multi-talented sophomore, Alexander Taylor '23.

Elmira College released its Dean's List for Academic Achievement for the Winter 2021 Term. The Dean's List recognizes full-time undergraduate students who were registered for at least 12 computable credit hours and who earned a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

The Mildred Whittlesey McGraw Attainment Award recognizes an Elmira College junior who has made the greatest contribution in academic achievement, general activities, and citizenship, and who has demonstrated most thoroughly the aims of the College. The award was endowed by Harold McGraw, Sr., former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, in honor of his mother. This year, two students received the award and today we feature Alyssa Waters '22.

The 2021 Elmira College recipient of both the International Student Prize and the Marian Ames Memorial Prize is Robert Angus Adams '22.

The Pi of New York chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at Elmira College held its annual induction ceremony on Friday, March 12. The ceremony, held virtually, recognized the newly inducted members-in-course in addition to the prize winners from the Classes of 2022 and 2023.

The Elmira College Kappa Omicron Chapter of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon National Chemical Honor Society held a virtual student induction on February 26, inducting thirteen students to the Honor Society.

On Friday, November 13, twenty Elmira College students were inducted into Phi Eta Sigma, the International Honor Society rewarding first-collegiate-year scholarship.

Recipients of the Elmira College Provost's Prizes in the Academic Disciplines are outstanding in the classroom in terms of their writing, presentation, and critical thinking skills. Such students take on new experiences in research, in learning new skills and techniques, and have frequently presented or published academic manuscripts. These students are members of national academic honor societies, and the faculty at Elmira College anticipates great accomplishments from them in their chosen fields.

Each year, the Dr. Ryland Hugh Hewitt, Jr. Award is given to an Elmira College student who has excelled in the field of speech-language pathology or audiology. The award was given by Warren and Louise Hewitt Aldrich '49 in memory of Louise's brother, Dr. Ryland Hugh Hewitt, Jr.

Each year, one Elmira College student is awarded this prize, given by Hal Roach, Litt.D. '88 Sons of the Desert Tent and presented to a graduating theatre major who has demonstrated the potential of a professional career in theatre and film.

The Elmira College Class of 2020 included 58 graduates receiving summa cum laude, magna cum laude, cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa honors.

Elmira College toasted to its newest graduates during a virtual event on Sunday, May 31.

The Empire 8 Conference recognized 94 Elmira College student-athletes on its semi-annual President's List, which honors student-athletes who achieved a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher during the spring semester.
