Elmira College recently named the recipient of this year's Elizabeth Anne Graham '42 Prize. The Prize is given in memory of Elizabeth Anne Graham '42, by her family. Her father, Professor of Economics, Grover C.T. Graham, was serving as a College Bursar at the time of her death in 1943. The prize is presented to the graduate who, in the judgement of the Department of Art, shows the greatest promise in the field of applied art.

Elmira College celebrated its 162nd Commencement on Sunday, June 4 at the Murray Athletic Center, Pine Valley. The exercises included the conferring of 296 undergraduate and 32 graduate degrees. The Class of 2017 also included more than 115 graduates receiving summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude honors.

Elmira College released its Dean's List for Academic Achievement for students in the Continuing Education Division for the 2016-2017 academic year. Part-time undergraduate students who have, during the current academic year, achieved a grade point average of 3.600 or higher at the end of the Spring Term and who have completed at least twelve graded credits during the current academic year are placed on the Dean's List for the Division of Continuing Education.

This year's Cowles Honor Scholar recipients were recongized at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 30, in Gibson Theatre. The honor is presented to seniors who have earned a grade point average of 3.6 or above and, thus far, have sustained this academic achievement throughout their Elmira College career. This honor is named for the College's first president, Augustus Cowles.
