The Class of 2000 Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 29, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize is given annually to a deserving freshman man going into the sophomore class who exemplifies the standards and spirit of Elmira College.

The Algernon DeWaters Gorman Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 29, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize was endowed to be awarded to the junior with a good overall grade point average who has completed the most scholarly work in chemistry.

The Helen Bosworth Beers '24 Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 29, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize has been endowed by members of her family in honor of Helen Bosworth Beers, a member of the Class of 1924, to be presented to a junior or senior who, in daily living, supports religious principles and who is a good student and an outstanding citizen in the College.

The Margaret Locke Community Service Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 29, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize was endowed by Barbara Linenthal '75 and other friends of Professor Emerita of Physical Education, Dr. Margaret Locke, to a student who has demonstrated a spirit of service to the campus and wider communities, provides a model of community involvement, and makes a difference in the lives of others through service.

The Elmira College theatre season debuted student-directed one-act plays in March. Each production featured a student director and student actors.

A new play titled, "Battles Lost and Won," by local playwright and Elmira College professor, John J. Kelly, will premiere Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24 at 8:00 p.m. at the Arnot Art Museum, Elmira.
