Shannon Strawinski '19 of the women's ice hockey team and Ryan McDonough '19 of the men's volleyball team were crowned the Elmira College Athletes of the Week, for the week ending March 18. It marks the second time this year that both junior student-athletes were recognized for their efforts by the EC Department of Athletics.

The No. 3/3-ranked Elmira College women's ice hockey team was well represented on the first-ever All-United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Awards, as 10 Soaring Eagles received year-end accolades. EC's impressive haul was highlighted by three Soaring Eagles receiving major awards, as Sarah Hughson '18 was named UCHC Player of the Year, Rachel Grampp '18 was tabbed as the conference's Defensive Player of the Year, and Kelcey Crawford '18 was crowned Goaltender of the Year.

For guiding the Elmira College men's ice hockey team to a birth in the inaugural United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Tournament Championship, Nick Ford '20 was tabbed as the league's Player of the Week and Gennaro Anzevino '21 earned Goaltender of the Week accolades in the conference's final weekly awards of the season. In addition to recognition from the UCHC, both Ford and Anzevino were named EC Athletes of the Week.

Senior forwards Sarah Hughson '18 and Louisa Lippiatt Durnell '18 of the nationally-ranked women's ice hockey team hwere crowned Elmira College Athletes of the Week (March 12) in recognition of their efforts in the NCAA Tournament win over Adrian College.

Patrick Tracey '18 of the Elmira College men's tennis team received recognition from the Empire 8 Conference, as he was tabbed the E8 Player of the Week on March 5.

Elmira College released its Dean's List for Academic Achievement for the Winter 2018 Term. The Dean's List recognizes students that have a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

The Marvelous Class of 2018 celebrated the Graduating Class Reception in Meier Hall on March 28. The annual celebration included presentations of the Outstanding Graduate Award, Alumnae and Alumni Rings, and alumni pins, as well as the announcement of Candlelight Speakers.

Elmira College recently named this year's recipients of the Board of Trustees Prize. The Prize is presented annually by the Elmira College Board of Trustees to students who most clearly exemplify the earnest desire to improve academically, socially, or in service to the College community.

The International Student Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 29, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize is awarded to a full-time student who has completed at least one-year of full-time study at Elmira College and who excels in academic and student life.

The Helen Hitchcock Bjorvand Drawing Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 29, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize was endowed in recognition of an extraordinary member of the art faculty, and is presented annually to the full-time Elmira College student submitting the best portfolio of drawings.

The Mildred Whittlesey McGraw Attainment Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 29, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize was endowed by Harold McGraw, Sr., former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, in honor of his mother, for a junior who has made the greatest contribution in academic achievement, general activities, and citizenship, and who has demonstrated most thoroughly the aims of the College.

The Prize was endowed to be awarded to the junior with a good overall grade point average who has completed the most scholarly work in chemistry.

The Helen Bosworth Beers '24 Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 29, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize has been endowed by members of her family in honor of Helen Bosworth Beers, a member of the Class of 1924, to be presented to a junior or senior who, in daily living, supports religious principles and who is a good student and an outstanding citizen in the College.

The Margaret Locke Community Service Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 29, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize was endowed by Barbara Linenthal '75 and other friends of Professor Emerita of Physical Education, Dr. Margaret Locke, to a student who has demonstrated a spirit of service to the campus and wider communities, provides a model of community involvement, and makes a difference in the lives of others through service.

The Elmira College theatre season debuted student-directed one-act plays in March. Each production featured a student director and student actors.
