For the first time in her collegiate career, Elmira College's Natalie Schieder '19 has been crowned the Empire 8 Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, October 2, 2017.

The Empire 8 Conference named Elmira College goalkeeper Jacob Liese '20 the E8 Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after notching his first career victory in shutout fashion, as announced by the league office on Monday.

For the week ending September 24, the Elmira College Department of Athletics has chosen to recognize three student-athletes - Megan Fitzgerald '18, Jordyn Rousselle '18 and Janie Kempf '21 - as EC Athletes of the Week in honor of their standout performances.

Elmira College recently recognized many of its most promising new students with the 82nd awarding of the Elmira College Key Award.

The Moser Freshman Prize, established by Raymond and Nancy Crane Moser '34, is presented annually to the student achieving the highest grade point average at the end of the first year of full-time academic work. The 2017 Moser Freshman Prize was awarded to Sofia Moore '20. Sofia, a finance major from Allegheny, N.Y.

In September, two Elmira College students, Anna Copp '18 and Ashley Kelly '18, along with Dr. Daniel Clay, assistant professor of criminal justice, presented a research paper during a conference at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

More than 30 students were inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society during a ceremony at Elmira College.

Elmira College celebrated the graduation of 328 students during its 162nd Commencement on Sunday, June 4 at the Murray Athletic Center, Pine Valley. The exercises included the conferring of 296 undergraduate and 32 graduate degrees.

Elmira College released its Dean's List for Academic Achievement for the Winter 2014 Term. The Dean's List recognizes students that have a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

Although the 2017-18 academic year is right around the corner, awards are still coming for the 2017 Elmira College cheerleading team, as three Soaring Eagles were recognized by the College STUNT Association with Honorable Mention All-America accolades.

The Elmira College men's and women's tennis teams were recognized for their outstanding performances in the classroom this past season, as both programs received a bevy of academic honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) this afternoon. Both squads were named to the ITA All-Academic Team, while several student-athletes on both sides garnered individual accolades by being named ITA Scholar-Athletes.

Earlier this summer, Ashley Miller '18 and Bridget Yaw '20, attended the Second Joint Symposium on the Natural History and Geology of The Bahamas, at the University of The Bahamas San Salvador.

For the fifth consecutive season and the sixth time in the past seven years, the Elmira College women's lacrosse team was has been recognized as an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA)/Zag Sports Academic Honor Squad, as announced by the organization on Wednesday. In addition to the Academic Honor Squad award, the IWLCA named six Soaring Eagles to its Division III Academic Honor Roll.

Elmira College recently named this year's recipients of the Board of Trustees Prize. The Prize is presented annually by the Elmira College Board of Trustees to students who most clearly exemplify the earnest desire to improve academically, socially, or in service to the College community.

Elmira College recently named this year's recipient of the Mark Twain Prize. The Prize is presented annually to the student who has produced the best creative or scholarly project on the subject of Mark Twain.

Elmira College recently named this year's recipient of the Marian Ames Memorial Prize. The Prize is presented each year in memory of Miss Ames, an outstanding Professor of Chemistry, by the Class of 1936, to an outstanding graduate in Chemistry.

Elmira College recently named the recipient of this year's Joseph Robinson Prize. The Prize was endowed by Grace Robinson Billard, 1902 Class President, in memory of her brother and in order to recognize an outstanding student in philosophy and religion.

Elmira College recently awarded the Jeannette Elizabeth Sheldon '78 Prize in Foreign Languages. The Prize was endowed by Albert Smith Sheldon in memory of his sister, a member of the Class of 1878, and is awarded to the member of the graduating class with the highest achievement in foreign language study.

Elmira College recently named this year's recipient of the Hal Roach, Litt.D. '88 Theatre Prize. The Prize is given by Hal Roach, Litt.D. '88 Sons of the Desert Tent (Elmira) and presented to a graduating theatre major who has demonstrated the potential of a professional career in theatre and film.

Elmira College recently named this year's recipient of the International Student Prize. The Prize is awarded to a full-time international student who excels in academic and student life.

Elmira College recently named the recipient of this year's Elizabeth Anne Graham '42 Prize. The Prize is given in memory of Elizabeth Anne Graham '42, by her family. Her father, Professor of Economics, Grover C.T. Graham, was serving as a College Bursar at the time of her death in 1943. The prize is presented to the graduate who, in the judgement of the Department of Art, shows the greatest promise in the field of applied art.

Elmira College recently named the recipient of this year's Emerson Liscum Diven Prize. The Prize is awarded annually to a senior who has high academic achievement and has contributed the most scholarly work in biology. The Prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Biology.
