Recently, 117 members of the Elmira College Unprecedented Class of 2024, 2 associate students, and 31 graduate students earned their degrees and set forth to find their place in the world.

Amedeo Mastrangeli of the Elmira College men's ice hockey team was named the 2023-24 Empire 8 Male Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year, based on a vote by the conference Faculty Athletic Representatives (FARs).

The Booster Club Vangorden "Player of the Year" Award is presented to a player who has completed a full season in one sport. Consideration is given to "sportsmanlike" qualities and outstanding playing contributions in game situations. The award is given to one player from each of EC's intercollegiate sports.

The EC Athlete of the Year Award is presented to a male and female athlete who demonstrated outstanding qualities of leadership, good citizenship, satisfactory academic achievement, and athletic proficiency.

The Wayne Moschetti '73 award is presented to a varsity athlete who is a member of the junior class. The recipient exemplifies the quality of spirit, character, and academic achievement of Moschetti.

College Sports Communicators (CSC), announced its 2024 Softball Academic All-District honors.

The EC Rookie of the Year Award is presented to a male and female athlete who demonstrated outstanding qualities of leadership, good citizenship, satisfactory academic achievement, and athletic proficiency throughout their first year as an Elmira College student-athlete.

Elmira College released its Dean's List for Academic Achievement for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Dean's List recognizes part-time undergraduate students who were registered for at least 12 computable credit hours throughout the academic year and who earned a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

The Iron Eagle Award is presented to a male and female student-athlete who displays the greatest dedication, perspective, and work ethic during individual and team workouts throughout the year.

Each year, an Elmira College senior is awarded the Sharon Cosloy-Blank '66 Science Prize for demonstrating excellence in scientific research in the areas of molecular biology, genetics, and/or biochemistry.

Each year, the Dr. Kathleen Sward Nursing Excellence Prize is awarded to a graduating Elmira College student who has demonstrated academic and clinical excellence in nursing.

The Bruce Beaty Memorial Prize is presented each year to an exceptional graduate in the field of human services.

Each year, one Elmira College student is awarded the Abraham Shabanowitz Mathematics Prize. The prize was established by Dr. Harry Shabanowitz, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, in memory of his father, to be awarded to graduates showing outstanding achievement in the field of mathematics.

Each year, one Elmira College student is recognized with the Kathryn Jenkins Education Prize. The prize is awarded to the graduating student, either graduate or undergraduate, who shows the greatest promise in the field of childhood education.

Each year, the Dr. Ryland Hugh Hewitt, Jr. Award is given to an Elmira College student who has excelled in the field of speech-language pathology or audiology. The award was given by Warren and Louise Hewitt Aldrich '49 in memory of Louise's brother, Dr. Ryland Hugh Hewitt, Jr.

Each year, an Elmira College student is recognized with the Kathlene Arnott Watters '65 Prize. The prize is awarded to an exceptional graduating student in American Studies, Classical Studies, English Literature, History, or Philosophy and Religion whose work exemplifies the ideals of scholarly inquiry and demonstrates a passion for the humanities.

Each year the Emerson Liscum Diven Prize is presented to an Elmira College senior who has high academic achievement and has contributed the most scholarly work in Biology. The Prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Biology.

Given in memory of Dr. Louise Frances Potter, an outstanding microbiologist, this prize is given to a superior graduate in Biology.

Elmira College recently named the 2024 recipient of the Barbara H. Palmer '67 Prize In History, which awards funds to a graduating student who has shown exceptional achievement in the field of history and is chosen by members of the College's history faculty.

Each year, an Elmira College student is recognized with the Class of 1917 Prize. This prize is awarded to the graduate who has shown the most creative ability in English Language and Literature.

The 14th Annual Student Research Conference, held May 11 in Gannett-Tripp Library, showcased 32 research projects involving 46 students. The students presented projects from the natural and social sciences, delving into ant populations, student well-being at EC, management concepts, sports and data analytics, and more.
