The Elmira College Office of Admissions recently announced the awardees for this year's Elmira College Scholars Program.

Eighteen students were inducted into the Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society during a ceremony on Saturday, February 17, 2024.

The Elmira College Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society inducted four students on February 15.

Recently,11 Elmira College students completed the Soaring Higher Leadership program. Over the course of 10 weeks, the students learned about the importance of knowing their values and skills, listened to speakers talk about their leadership journeys, and helped each other grow as leaders.

The Friends of the Chemung River Watershed recently thanked Elmira College students for volunteering to clean trash and debris along the Chemung River by presenting them with a Volunteer Award. Elmira College released its Dean's List for Academic Achievement for the Fall 2023 Term. The Dean's List recognizes full-time undergraduate students who were registered for at least 12 computable credit hours and who earned a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

The Elmira College Theatre recently performed Love/Sick, by John Cariani, an "unromantic comedy" consisting of nine short plays that explore the pain and joy that come with being in love.

Each year in the Term I Student Art Show, select artwork from students in the First Year Seminar courses along with work by students taking art courses at all levels is displayed in the George Waters Art Gallery. This year's pieces include paintings, ceramics, sculptures, drawings, prints, and videos.

Elmira College recently announced this year's recipients of its annual Key Award. This year's award was given to 783 students in 16 states. A tradition that goes back to 1935, the Key Award is presented to outstanding students in their junior year of high school or preparatory school.

The 13th Annual Student Research Conference, held May 24 in Cowles Hall, showcased 18 research projects involving 24 students. The students presented projects from the natural and social sciences, delving into soil erosion, international student difficulties, the genetics of neurodevelopmental disabilities, classroom teacher practices, and more.

The Algernon DeWaters Gorman Prize, was endowed as an award for the Elmira College junior with a good overall average who has completed the most scholarly work in chemistry.

Each year, one Elmira College student is awarded the Abraham Shabanowitz Mathematics Prize. The prize was established by Dr. Harry Shabanowitz, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, in memory of his father, to be awarded to graduates showing outstanding achievement in the field of mathematics.

Each year, an Elmira College student is recognized with the Class of 1917 Prize. This prize is awarded to the graduate who has shown the most creative ability in English Language and Literature.
