The Professional Nurses of the Twin Tiers Award was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize is awarded annually to the nursing student who demonstrates leadership and high academic standards.

The Rho Gamma Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society recently held its annual induction at Elmira College. There were 12 Elmira College nursing juniors and seniors among those inducted.

Third-year student-athletes Jansen Crossley '20 of the baseball team and Rachael Goetz '20 of the women's lacrosse team have been named Elmira College Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 21.

Following a seventh consecutive berth into the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, three members of the Elmira College women's ice hockey team were recognized by U.S. College Hockey Online (USCHO). All-Americans Meg Lahey '19 and Katie Granato '19 were named to the All-USCHO First and Second Teams, respectively, while first-year forward Eliza Beaudin '22 was included on the All-Rookie Team.

The Prize is presented by the Nurse Education Program faculty each year to an outstanding graduating senior nursing student that represents the profession of nursing.

Elmira College released its Dean's List for Academic Achievement for the Winter 2019 Term. The Dean's List recognizes full-time undergraduate students who were registered for at least 12 computable credit hours and who earned a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

For the second year in a row, Ryan McDonough '19 of the Elmira College men's volleyball team was named a United Volleyball Conference (UVC) Honorable Mention, as voted on by the league's head coaches.

For the second week in a row and the third time in 2019, the Empire 8 Conference has named Elmira College's Stephen Gervase '20 its E8 Men's Tennis Player of the Week.

The Hypatia Mathematics Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize is named after Hypatia of Alexandria and established by Patricia Opp McMahon '66 to be awarded to a female junior who exhibits enthusiasm for mathematics and the desire to share that passion with others through education or other career endeavors in order to recognize more women for their interest and competency in this important field of study.

The International Student Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize is awarded to a full-time international student who has completed at least one-year of full-time study at Elmira College and who excels in academic and student life.

Elmira College recently named this year's recipients of the Board of Trustees Prize. The Prize is presented annually by the Elmira College Board of Trustees to students who most clearly exemplify the earnest desire to improve academically, socially, or in service to the College community.

The Margaret Locke Community Service Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize was endowed by Barbara Linenthal '75 and other friends of Professor Emerita of Physical Education, Dr. Margaret Locke, to a student who has demonstrated a spirit of service to the campus and wider communities, provides a model of community involvement, and makes a difference in the lives of others through service.

The Algernon DeWaters Gorman Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize was endowed to be awarded to the junior with a good overall grade point average who has completed the most scholarly work in chemistry.

Elmira College recently named this year's recipient of the Marian Ames Memorial Prize. The Prize is presented each year in memory of Miss Ames, an outstanding Professor of Chemistry, by the Class of 1936, to an outstanding graduate in Chemistry.

The Helen Bosworth Beers '24 Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize has been endowed by members of her family in honor of Helen Bosworth Beers, a member of the Class of 1924, to be presented to a junior or senior who, in daily living, supports religious principles and who is a good student and an outstanding citizen in the College.

The Mildred Whittlesey McGraw Attainment Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize was endowed by Harold McGraw, Sr., former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, in honor of his mother, for a junior who has made the greatest contribution in academic achievement, general activities, and citizenship, and who has demonstrated most thoroughly the aims of the College.

The Helen Hitchcock Bjorvand Drawing Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize was endowed in recognition of an extraordinary member of the art faculty, and is presented annually to the full-time Elmira College student submitting the best portfolio of drawings.
