Elmira College recently named this year's recipient of the Marian Ames Memorial Prize. The Prize is presented each year in memory of Miss Ames, an outstanding Professor of Chemistry, by the Class of 1936, to an outstanding graduate in Chemistry.

The Algernon DeWaters Gorman Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize was endowed to be awarded to the junior with a good overall grade point average who has completed the most scholarly work in chemistry.

The Helen Bosworth Beers '24 Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize has been endowed by members of her family in honor of Helen Bosworth Beers, a member of the Class of 1924, to be presented to a junior or senior who, in daily living, supports religious principles and who is a good student and an outstanding citizen in the College.

The Mildred Whittlesey McGraw Attainment Prize was presented at the Elmira College Academic Honors and Student Recognition Celebration, held Thursday, March 28, in Stephens Lounge. The Prize was endowed by Harold McGraw, Sr., former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, in honor of his mother, for a junior who has made the greatest contribution in academic achievement, general activities, and citizenship, and who has demonstrated most thoroughly the aims of the College.

The Prize was endowed in recognition of an extraordinary member of the art faculty, and is presented annually to the full-time Elmira College student submitting the best portfolio of drawings.

The 2018-19 United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Co-Player of the Year, Elmira College's Connor Powell '20, received further recognition at the 2018-19 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship Banquet on March 21, as the standout junior was announced as a CCM Hockey/American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-America Second Team honoree.

Academic honors continue to pour in for the Elmira College field hockey team, which saw six student-athletes named to the Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad.
