Standout seniors Maddy Jerolman '19 of the nationally-ranked women's ice hockey team and Rachel Vespucci '19 of the women's basketball team have been chosen as Elmira College Athletes of the Week.

The first Elmira College Athlete of the Week Awards of 2019 have been issued to a pair of seniors in Meg Lahey '19 of the nationally-ranked women's ice hockey team and Justin Porrett '19 of the men's basketball team.

Senior Airman Waeya Lin, a resident of Rensselaer, was selected as the 109th Airlift Wing's Outstanding Airman of the Year for 2018, based on his superior leadership, job performance, community involvement and personal achievements. Lin joined the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing in Scotia, New York in 2016 with the Medical Group as a medical technician. He is a 2012 graduate of Rensselaer High School and obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Elmira College, Elmira, New York, in 2016. Lin was recently accepted into the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Lin will go on to compete for the New York Air National Guard Outstanding Airman of the Year.

Strawinski, Beaudin and Martin Honored as Elmira Sweeps UCHC Weekly Awards

Elmira College released its Dean's List for Academic Achievement for the Fall 2018 Term. The Dean's List recognizes students that have a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.

"Mashups and Other Collisions in Art and Literature," a print-on-demand book, features a collection of essays, poems, and artwork created by Elmira College students in the 2018 First Year Seminar class this fall.

For the last week of competition in 2018, Shannon Strawinski '19 and Eliza Beaudin '22 of the nationally-ranked women's ice hockey team have been named Elmira College Athletes of the Week.

The Elmira College Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB) and the Department of Athletics expressed their holiday spirit by giving back to a local family in need, as part of Catholic Charities of Chemung and Schuyler Counties' Adopt-A-Family Program.
