Elmira College's Hanson and LoPresti Honored by Empire 8 Conference

Taylor Hanson '21 and Allie LoPresti '19 of the Elmira College women's soccer team were recognized by the Empire 8 Conference with year-end awards, as announced by the league office ton November 8. Hanson was voted as an Empire 8 All-Conference Honorable Mention selection, while LoPresti was selected as EC's representative on the Empire 8 Sportswoman of the Year Team.

Elmira College women's ice hockey's Katie Granato '19 and Stephanie Martin '22 received United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Weekly accolades, following EC's two-goal win against reigning NCAA national champion, and former No. 1/1-ranked, Norwich University. Granato was voted as the league's Player of the Week, while Martin claimed Goalie of the Week honors.

Elmira College's Porrett and Abate Named to NABC Honors Court

Academic accolades continue to pour in for the Elmira College men's basketball team, who after receiving the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award, saw two rising seniors recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom. Classmates Justin Porrett '19, a double-major in Finance and Accounting, and Anthony Abate '19, a double-major in Biology and Chemistry, were selected to the NABC Honors Court as announced by the national office on July 17.

Two-sport athlete and recent Elmira College graduate, Sarah Hughson '18, has been named one of the record-setting 581 nominees for the prestigious NCAA Woman of the Year Award, as announced by the NCAA office on July 12, 2018. Hughson is one of 170 multi-sport athletes in this year's pool and is among 199 nominees from the Division III level.
