The Elmira College Enactus Team garnered a Competition Championship at the recent Enactus United States Regional Competition in Philadelphia on March 19. The presentation team moved on to the Enactus United States National Exposition to be held in Kansas City, Missouri on May 20-22.

Elmira College women's ice hockey seniors Sarah Hughson '18 and Ari Smith '18 were both elected to the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.

Both Patrick Tracey '18 and Stephen Gervase '20 of the Elmira College men's tennis team received honors from the Empire 8 Conference, as announced by the league office on May 11. Tracey garnered E8 All-Conference Second-Team accolades for singles after a stellar senior campaign, while Gervase received a spot on the Sportsman of the Year Team.

Buffum Earns First-Career AVCA Player of the Week Award

Matthew Buffum '18 of the No. 15-ranked Elmira College men's volleyball team was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Player of the Week for Division III on March 26. Buffum was also tabbed as both the United Volleyball Conference (UVC) and Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week the day before. The announcement marks just the third time in program history that an EC player garnered this accolade, the most recent being two-time AVCA All-American Erik Griffin '16, who did so on February 23, 2016.

Softball Sweeps E8 Weekly Awards

In recognition of their outstanding play in Elmira College softball's season-opening weekend, both Maddy Johnson '19 and McKenzie Slaven '20 received accolades from the Empire 8 Conference office. Johnson was tabbed as the E8's Player of the Week, while Slaven won the Pitcher of the Week award, marking the first time in program history that EC has won both awards in the same week.

The No. 3/3-ranked Elmira College women's ice hockey team was well represented on the first-ever All-United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Awards, as 10 Soaring Eagles received year-end accolades. EC's impressive haul was highlighted by three Soaring Eagles receiving major awards, as Sarah Hughson '18 was named UCHC Player of the Year, Rachel Grampp '18 was tabbed as the conference's Defensive Player of the Year, and Kelcey Crawford '18 was crowned Goaltender of the Year.

Ford and Anzevino Recognized on Final UCHC Weekly Accolades of Season

For guiding the Elmira College men's ice hockey team to a birth in the inaugural United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) Tournament Championship, Nick Ford '20 was tabbed as the league's Player of the Week and Gennaro Anzevino '21 earned Goaltender of the Week accolades in the conference's final weekly awards of the season. In addition to recognition from the UCHC, both Ford and Anzevino were named EC Athletes of the Week.
