The annual Elmira College Nurse Pinning Ceremony, held in Speidel Gymnasium as part of Commencement weekend activities, recognized 68 students who have completed the requirements for a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

The Elmira College Class of 2018 included more than 140 graduates receiving summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude honors at the College's 160th Commencement on Saturday, June 2 at the Murray Athletic Center, Pine Valley. The exercises included 270 undergraduate and 27 graduate students.

Elmira College released its Dean's List for Academic Achievement for students in the Continuing Education Division for the 2017-2018 academic year. Part-time undergraduate students who have, during the current academic year, achieved a grade point average of 3.600 or higher at the end of the Spring Term and who have completed at least twelve graded credits during the current academic year are placed on the Dean's List for the Division of Continuing Education.

Charl Pretorius '19 of the Elmira College men's golf team was named EC's representative on the Empire 8 Conference Sportsman of the Year Team, as announced by the league office on May 31. Each institution is represented by one student-athlete on the Sportsman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission.

The Elmira College Department of Athletics recognized the achievements made by its student-athletes and staff members throughout the 2017-2018 academic year during the 48th Annual Athletics Award Banquet, held on May 21, 2018.

The Elmira College Enactus Team garnered a Competition Championship at the recent Enactus United States Regional Competition in Philadelphia on March 19. The presentation team moved on to the Enactus United States National Exposition to be held in Kansas City, Missouri on May 20-22.

Elmira College students and two psychology faculty members, Dr. Allyson Graf and Dr. Ping Zheng, recently attended and presented during the Eastern Psychological Association Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.

The Beta Tau Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda, the National Honor Society for non-traditional undergraduate students, recently welcomed the 2018 initiates and their families at a ceremony held on the Elmira College campus.

The Rho Gamma Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society recently held its annual induction at Elmira College. There were 19 EC nursing juniors and seniors among those inducted.

Pi Mu Epsilon, the National Mathematical Sciences Honor Society, recently inducted three new members during a ceremony at Elmira College.

Elmira College women's ice hockey seniors Sarah Hughson '18 and Ari Smith '18 were both elected to the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.

Four Elmira College baseball players received honors from the Empire 8 Conference office on May 17, as the E8 announced Conor Bawiec '18, Dennis Rudolph '18, and Andy Reed '19 earned All-Conference accolades, and Bryce Plante '18 was named to the Sportsman of the Year Team.

Both Patrick Tracey '18 and Stephen Gervase '20 of the Elmira College men's tennis team received honors from the Empire 8 Conference, as announced by the league office on May 11. Tracey garnered E8 All-Conference Second-Team accolades for singles after a stellar senior campaign, while Gervase received a spot on the Sportsman of the Year Team.

Following another standout season for the Elmira College softball team, third-year center fielder Maddy Johnson '19 was named to the Empire 8 All-Conference First Team, as announced by the conference office on May 10.

Four members of the Elmira College women's lacrosse team were honored by the Empire 8 Conference on May 10, as seniors Kelcey Crawford '18, Sarah Hughson '18 and Rachel Grampp '18 each received E8 All-Conference accolades and classmate Kiersta Pino '18 was named to the Sportswoman of the Year Team.

Elmira College attacker Nevin Olney '18 was named to the 2018 Empire 8 Conference Men's Lacrosse Sportsman of the Year Team following the conclusion of his senior season with the Soaring Eagles this spring.

Elmira College senior Conor Bawiec '18 earned Empire 8 Conference Pitcher of the Week accolades after spinning a gem in his final collegiate start against Medaille College at historic Dunn Field on Saturday, May 5.

Nick Sampogna '18 of the baseball team and Emily Clark '19 of the softball team were named the Elmira College Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 29.
