The 2018 Elmira College Excellence in Nursing Award was presented at the annual Elmira College Nurse Pinning Ceremony on Friday, June 1, as part of Commencement weekend activities.

The recipient of this year's Emerson Liscum Diven Prize was recently announced at Elmira College's Commencement exercises. The Prize is awarded annually to a senior who has high academic achievement and has contributed the most scholarly work in biology. The Prize is awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Biology.

Elmira College recently named this year's recipient of the Julian Allen Prize at the 2018 Commencement exercises. The Prize was established for excellence in international business and is awarded annually on the basis of merit.

The 2018 Professional Nurses of the Twin Tiers Leadership Award was presented at the annual Elmira College Nurse Pinning Ceremony held as part of the College's Commencement weekend activities.

The 2018 Rho Gamma Scholarship Award was presented at the annual Elmira College Nurse Pinning Ceremony held as part of the College's Commencement weekend activities.

The 2018 ANA Future Nurse Leader Award was presented at the annual Elmira College Nurse Pinning Ceremony held as part of the College's Commencement weekend activities.

The annual Elmira College Nurse Pinning Ceremony, held in Speidel Gymnasium as part of Commencement weekend activities, recognized 68 students who have completed the requirements for a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

The Elmira College Class of 2018 included more than 140 graduates receiving summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude honors at the College's 160th Commencement on Saturday, June 2 at the Murray Athletic Center, Pine Valley. The exercises included 270 undergraduate and 27 graduate students.

Elmira College celebrated the graduation of 297 students during its 160th Commencement on Saturday, June 2 at the Murray Athletic Center, Pine Valley. The exercises included 270 undergraduate and 27 graduate degrees.

Elmira College released its Dean's List for Academic Achievement for students in the Continuing Education Division for the 2017-2018 academic year. Part-time undergraduate students who have, during the current academic year, achieved a grade point average of 3.600 or higher at the end of the Spring Term and who have completed at least twelve graded credits during the current academic year are placed on the Dean's List for the Division of Continuing Education.

Charl Pretorius '19 of the Elmira College men's golf team was named EC's representative on the Empire 8 Conference Sportsman of the Year Team, as announced by the league office on May 31. Each institution is represented by one student-athlete on the Sportsman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission.

The Elmira College Department of Athletics recognized the achievements made by its student-athletes and staff members throughout the 2017-2018 academic year during the 48th Annual Athletics Award Banquet, held on May 21, 2018.

The annual awards for the Senior Art Majors Show, exhibited in the George Waters Gallery, were presented at the exhibit opening reception on Thursday, May 17.

The Center for Mark Twain Studies announced the winners for their two annual student contests: the 2018 "Portraying Mark Twain" Art Competition and the 2018 "Mark Twain Essay" Prize.

The President's Council of Elmira College awarded their highest honors, The President's Council Award and the Stand Energy Prize, during a ceremony held May 17 in Peterson Chapel.

On May 9, Elmira College hosted the Ninth Annual Student Research Conference in Cowles Hall. More than 30 Elmira students, representing multiple disciplines, presented course projects and independent research conducted with faculty.

The Elmira College Theatre's final production of the 2017-2018 season featured the enjoyable musical comedy, The Apple Tree, by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick.

The Elmira College Enactus Team garnered a Competition Championship at the recent Enactus United States Regional Competition in Philadelphia on March 19. The presentation team moved on to the Enactus United States National Exposition to be held in Kansas City, Missouri on May 20-22.

Elmira College undergraduate students, recently presented research projects at the Northeast Region 1 Conference of the TriBeta Biological Honor Society held at Russell Sage College in Troy, NY.

Elmira College students and two psychology faculty members, Dr. Allyson Graf and Dr. Ping Zheng, recently attended and presented during the Eastern Psychological Association Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.

The Beta Tau Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda, the National Honor Society for non-traditional undergraduate students, recently welcomed the 2018 initiates and their families at a ceremony held on the Elmira College campus.

The Rho Gamma Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society recently held its annual induction at Elmira College. There were 19 EC nursing juniors and seniors among those inducted.

Pi Mu Epsilon, the National Mathematical Sciences Honor Society, recently inducted three new members during a ceremony at Elmira College.

Elmira College women's ice hockey seniors Sarah Hughson '18 and Ari Smith '18 were both elected to the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom.

Four Elmira College baseball players received honors from the Empire 8 Conference office on May 17, as the E8 announced Conor Bawiec '18, Dennis Rudolph '18, and Andy Reed '19 earned All-Conference accolades, and Bryce Plante '18 was named to the Sportsman of the Year Team.

Both Patrick Tracey '18 and Stephen Gervase '20 of the Elmira College men's tennis team received honors from the Empire 8 Conference, as announced by the league office on May 11. Tracey garnered E8 All-Conference Second-Team accolades for singles after a stellar senior campaign, while Gervase received a spot on the Sportsman of the Year Team.

Following another standout season for the Elmira College softball team, third-year center fielder Maddy Johnson '19 was named to the Empire 8 All-Conference First Team, as announced by the conference office on May 10.

Four members of the Elmira College women's lacrosse team were honored by the Empire 8 Conference on May 10, as seniors Kelcey Crawford '18, Sarah Hughson '18 and Rachel Grampp '18 each received E8 All-Conference accolades and classmate Kiersta Pino '18 was named to the Sportswoman of the Year Team.
